Our beautiful blue boy (the Dave of the title) has discovered a hedgehog that comes into our garden at dusk. The first time he found it he picked it up and brought it in, much to my wife's consternation, I took it off him, apparently unharmed, and returned it to the veg patch, the problem is Dave is now obsessed!

He is supposed to be kept 'quiet' following a cruciate ligament op 3 weeks ago, but come the gloaming he is pawing the patio doors, desperate to reacquaint himself with Mr (or Mrs) Tiggywinkle. I try to ignore him, but he's a big and vocal boy and it is normally easier to take him out on the lead to the garden and let him at least have a sniff round. Unfortunately he has now found the critter on 3 separate occasions and it is now his total focus.

Anyone any suggestions how to dissuade him as the hedgehogs spines don't seem to bother him?
