Good evening everyone,

My name is Linda and I am Winston's servant *coughs*.  My boy is 12 weeks old and I would like to know if I leave the food for him to eat at his leisure or do I lift the bowl when he walks away?  He seems to be a bit of a snacker, taking a few pellets at a time, eating those on the mat and then going back for a few more.

Personally I wouldn't leave the food down because you will be teaching him to become a snacker and possibly a fussy eater which will be a problem later on.

He is a pup so he needs 4 meals a day but I would leave them down for a set amount of time and then remove them until next feed time.

We would love to see some photos of your boy.

Late reply here...

Assuming this isn't a sudden change in appetite, I would offer 4 x meals a day at this age and leave the bowl down for 30 minutes before lifting but ensuring there's plenty of water available throughout the day. Is it the same food he was weaned on to by his breeder?
