I am not a new member but some of you will remember me from a while ago with Naughty Nobby, well, he went to the rainbow bridge on Thursday. 90 seconds after leaving the house with my grandson for a little walk he dropped dead with what we now know was a massive heart attack. Not 7 till October he showed no signs of anything being wrong, other than being very clingy but as my husband was away for the week I just thought he was missing his daddy. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement, we had nothing but love from him and the occasional chewed table, chair, shoe, sideboard, rug, bed (both human and dog). How on earth we will ever recover I do not know, the house is quiet and clean, hair free and slobberless but that is all it is.....a house....our home is shattered without him.

He came into our lives December 2010

He stole our hearts there and then

His big floppy ears and massive paws

The way he used his mouth to open all the doors

Those big kind eyes watched our every move

He very soon got into our groove

When I became ill he was better than a nurse

He was by my side for better or worse

When he ate the table he wasn't being bad

Just a normal Great Dane lad

When the shoes ended up looking like poo

There wasn't a whole lot we could do

When he got runs I cleaned it up

He was just a normal Great Dane pup

As time went along he grew big and strong

everyone loved Nobby as he strutted along

Now there is a hole that will be there forever

Goodbye my beautiful friend I will forget you never

Run free and proud at the rainbow bridge
